Accurate prediction of crop phenology is important not only for modelling purposes but also for crop improvement and management actions. The objective of this study was to develop a model for predicting phenological development to flowering in rice ( Oryza sativa L.).Data from the literature were analysed to evaluate a basic equation for crop development.
