Objectives - In scientific research there is growing attention for the importance of children’s participation in decision-making in the child protection system (CPS). In the Dutch Youth Act (2015), the importance of participation of children is highlighted as well. However, research in different countries shows that the implementation of children’s participation in child protection practice still needs to be enhanced.Method - This presentation draws on an ongoing study analysing 400 case files regarding reports of child maltreatment.
