Plant performance implies complex traits, controlled by a large set of genes and affected by the environment. In this thesis we have tried to take the first steps in unravelling the genes controlling plant performance using naturally occurring accessions (ecotypes) of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and QTL (quantitative trait locus) analysis.</span><span lang=EN-GB></span><span lang=EN-US>Traits associated with plant performance (mainly the gain, the allocation, and the storage of carbon) have been studied to investigate if there is a relationship between various growth parameters, and between growth and flowering-related traits.
