The experiment was aimed to detect the polymorphism of leptin gene and to find possible relations betw-cen the genotype and litter size in Polish Larze White x Polish Landrace crossbreed pigs. The polymorphism in LEP gene locus was detected using PCR-RFLP method. The frequency of allele, G was estimated at 0.93 and allele A - 0.07. In the studied population of pigs, the genotype GG was detected with the frequency 0.88. AG - 0.11 and AA - 0.01. The analysis showed that the sows with the AA genotype had the largest litter size compared to AG and GG sows but the difference was statistically not significant
