Analysis of first drafts of Conceptual Models and narrative storylines over all Pilot Areas

Within large integrative, multi-scale scenario studies two kinds of problems are often encountered. It is problematic to fully link narrative storylines and quantitative models, and cross-scale interactions are weak. This study aims at testing and applying new concepts for scenario development that can help to bridge those gaps in the current methodologies. It is carried out in the framework of SCENES. Part of Water Scenarios for Europe and for Neighbouring States - SCENES. In the SCENES project multi-scale water scenarios will be set up, covering the European Union (EU25) and neighbouring countries such as the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Turkey and the countries along the South-side of the Mediterranean Sea. This study region is referred to as pan-European throughout the proposal. The 4-year project aims on developing and analysing a set of comprehensive scenarios of the pan-Europe’s freshwater futures up to 2025. They will be creative, policy-relevant and scientifically-credible scenarios that describe the future of Europe’s waters
