Within large integrative, multi-scale scenario studies two kinds of problems are often encountered. It is problematic to fully link narrative storylines and quantitative models, and cross-scale interactions are weak. This study aims at testing and applying new concepts for scenario development that can help to bridge those gaps in the current methodologies. It is carried out in the framework of SCENES.
