Relation between Critical Load Exceedance and Loss of Protected Species

This report describes the 2008 European database on spatially-explicit critical loads and dynamic modelling data (2008 CL database). It analyses the underlying fundamentals of the 2008 CL database, and provides examples of its use in the assessing of the magnitude and location of the risk of current and future impacts of nitrogen and sulphur on ecosystems in Europe, including the Natura 2000 areas.
