The present thesis deals both experimentally and theoretically with the diffraction of fast electrons (20-40 kV) by heavy elements both in vapour form and in the crystalline state. In chapter V an investigation is described concerning the influence of Lattice Temperature on the ring intensity in a Debije-Scherrer pattern. The manner in which the intensity decreases with the temperature and with the angle of deviation is in accordance with the theory of Debije-Waller-Pisarenko (elements Pb and Ag, see Figs. 12 and 13). ...
