This work deals with a new technique for the nondestructive evaluation of viscoelastic properties of anisotropic media. Inferred from the maximum likelihood, the identification method is based on the waveform reconstruction of a set of signals from a model quantifying wave propagation through immersed plates. Initially, the direct problem formulation allows one to establish analytically the plate response, and consequently to predict the waveform of a transmitted signal in terms of the problem parameters.
