To PowerPoint or Not to Power Point: A Research Study to Discover the Benefits of Incorporating PowerPoint Presentations is a Middle School Mathematics Classroom

This action research project explores the academic benefits for middle school students and teachers when a Power Point presentation is used to present all or part of a lesson. Creating daily PowerPoint presentations is very time consuming for teachers. Therefore, it is important to know if the time investment benefits either the teacher or the student. This study primarily focuses on looking for measurable differences on student proficiency and then looking for other positive and negative consequences of using a power point presentation versus a presentation done with an overhead projector
