Burnout is a national phenomenon on the United States, effecting between 60% and 78% of healthcare professionals (21) across a variety of settings. Burnout results in increased cost to the healthcare industry, significantly decreased quality of patient care, and increased malpractice claims. At the same time, healthcare providers are increasingly under demands to their time that limit their ability to access wellness resources to mitigate the effects of burnout, such as outpatient psychotherapy.
