There is no doubt that the Southeastern United States has played host to some of the most influential, controversial, and polarizing moments in American history. From the secession of the Confederacy to Jim Crow laws to Reagan-country to the heartland of the MAGA movement, the South has always had its own brand of politics and opinions.
