Born in Karlsruhe, Germany to parents who are of mixed heritage, Mother is from Bosnia while father is from Croatia, Earliest memories are of living in a small apartment in St. Louis, Grew up in a close friendship with another Bosnian family who shared the same background as him, War effected family by forcing them to move and would not be where he is now if not for the war, Other family members on mothers side had to fight in the war, Friend group in the United States are very diverse and have few other Bosnians, Identifies as Bosnian and it is important to him to be different, Feels he is different then Bosnians born in the United States as they do not share the same goals and aspects of life as himself, Family was multireligious but due to searching for a place for himself he is not religiously, Feels that the education system in the United States for foreign born students helps at the start but eventually hinders the students learning, Belives that the war and what happened in Bosnia was a political argument that went too far and that the common people cannot be blamed for, Has no hatred for Serbians as he belives it is important to not develop on the post but move forward with life
