"The blue field represents many aspects of Utah's natural beauty; the sky, mountains, lakes and streams. The golden beehive recalls the state's pioneer heritage and that time's symbol of industry, the beehive. The lower half of the flag represents the red rock and sand of southern Utah. The gold stars represent the original indigenous tribes.
