This research focuses on the surface functionalization of Zr- and Cu-based thin film metallic glasses by femtosecond laser pulses. This functionalization can be classified into two sub-categories: the creation of topographical modifications and the generation of structural and chemical changes. To achieve this objective, different irradiation systems and a range of parameters were tested. The irradiation results are oriented around two axes, namely, irradiations in the nanostructuration fluence regime and those in the ablative regime.
