Steel education

STEEL is a magnificent material from which our dreams are made, and our skyscrapers are constructed from it. STEEL needs to be known well, from its birth to death, for the human who will put it into use, while designing and constructing for the future century. If we start to give education about it firstly at the university, then its adequate place in Building Sector will be perfect. STEEL EDUCATION does not mean what its properties are, but it means what its formable alternatives are related to its stable capacity. Architecture gives order to society's building activities. An architect needs to be an all rounder - both artist and scientist, visually aware - able to think in three dimensions, creative - curious, open-minded, logical, analytical, self-critical, practical and visionary, caring - concerned about people and the environment, an organiser - able to manage, lead and get on with other people. Education in architecture includes study of design processes; study of the physical processes that impinge on buildings and the technologies available for construction; examination and analysis of previously constructed buildings and their use; and consideration of the social and environmental consequences specific building activities. In any event a student should develop her/his skill at sketching the world around her/him. With steel, it is easy to develop a student's skill in such a way that anybody can imagine how easy it will be. The fate of higher education becomes more interwined with the development of science and technology, establishing imperatives that often contradict the demands of widened access and mass education. By the use of technology, it will be easier to overcome the difficulties which occur while designing and building with steel. Steel as the frame material confers several advantages. • the steel frame can be erected rapidly and the construction period is short But how true is this image? No matter. The reason for our challenge in life is to make life conditions better firstly for us then for the environment. But the reason of doing better is to feel excitement while using the space that we live in. And architects who design the built environment for us have to know the features of how to design in steel, for creating better and exciting spaces for humans.
