Studies conducted in preschool environment points toward the importance of outdoor activity, as outdoor activities have an important role in the child's learning and development process. Further, the preschool outdoor environmental design is important for the children that need challenge when outdoors. I examine how much time children spend outdoors in three different preschool pedagogies: Outdoor, Waldorf and Municipal preschools. I also identify some different qualities of how the time is used and what the kids do when outdoors.
