© 2017 TIBTD Printed in Turkey.In this study, transient heat transfer process inside a two-dimensional cavity has been numerically investigated. The numerical model has been created with control volume approach by using C++ programming language. In order to determine the accuracy of the numerical code, comparisons are made with the results of the numerical analysis and experimental velocity measurements from the literature. After that, the time-dependent variations of local and average Nusselt numbers have been revealed for various aspect ratios and different thermal boundary conditions of the cavity.
