Diesel engines are widely used in the world for trade and human transportation because of their efficiency and economical aspects. Approximately thirty percent of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming in the world are due to the transportation sector. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of four-stroke single-cylinder diesel engine on combustion characteristics and exhaust gas emissions by changing intake valve lift distances.
