Elasto-plastic analysis was carried out for the aluminum adherend and DP460 ductile adhesive in a double-lap joint. The analytical solution was compared with the finite element solution. ANSYS 12 was used in the stress analysis. The analytical solution was performed for the one-dimensional case in the adhesive and the adherends. A FEM solution was given for the two-dimensional case. Similar results were obtained for both. In addition, the solution was carried out for brittle and ductile materials.
