Zimri-Lim had been on the throne in Mari for fewer than ten years when he was summoned by his father-in-law, Yarim-Lim. Zimri-Lim sat out on a trip to the Mediterranean that lasted nearly six months. He was accompanied by over four thousand men and carried with him much of his wealth.
