Finding aid for a collection. Collection description: The collection is in two parts. One is 85 manuscript leaves of vellum from a Latin Bible dating from 1290 to 1300. It is believed that this copy was made in a French Carthusian monastery and later became the property of the monastery at Villeneuve-les-Avignon. The illuminated leaves have been damaged and repaired. The second part is 80 printed and decorated leaves from a missal for the use of the Diocese of Chartres, printed in Paris by Thielman in 1529. Details about the content and condition of both sets of leaves may be found in the finding aid. The leaves were originally donated to Vanderbilt University's Divinity Library in 1985, but were transferred to Special Collections later
