The evaluation of the wave-induced pore pressure is one of key factors in the analysis of foundation stability around coastal structures. In this study, a three-dimensional numerical model is proposed to investigate the wave-induced pore pressures around a breakwater head. Unlike previous investigations limited to poro-elastic theories, the plastic soil behaviour is consider in the new model. With the present model, a parametric study is conducted to investigate the relative differences of the predictions of the wave-induced pore pressure with elastic and plastic models.
