The efficacy of a ketanserin 0.25 % gel formulation intended for use in wound treatment in horses, was evaluated in small animal dermatology during a comparative trial under field conditions. The dermatological problems were restricted to ''traumatic lesions'', ''ischemic or necrotic lesions'' and ''dermatitis due to licking or scratching''. The efficacy of ketanserin gel as only therapeutic was compared to the efficacy of the routine treatment used in the practice and to the efficacy of the combination of both treatments.
