An Analysis Code-Mixing Performed By K-Popers Indonesia On Facebook

Code-Mixing, K-POPers Indonesia, FacebookThis research analyzes Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers on Facebook. This research deals with types of Code-Mixing, effects of Code-Mixing, and functions of Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers Indonesia on Facebook. The objectives of this research are to describe the types of Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers Indonesia on Facebook, the effects of Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers Indonesia on Facebook, and the functions of Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers Indonesia on Facebook. This research only focuses on analyzes Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers Indonesia. There are some reason why this topic was chosen. First, most of previous research focuses to find types, reason, and purpose of Code-Mixing that performed in company, novel, and song lyric. Second, research about Code-Mixing in Korean Language is still rare to be discussed. This was a descriptive qualitative research and supported by some methods; observation, documentation, and questionnaire. The data are taken by screen shooting K-POPers conversation on Facebook and give 20 questionnaires for 100 K-POPers. The researcher used theory from Muysken to find out types of Code-Mixing and Fathurrohman, Sumarwati, and Hastuti to find out functions of Code-Mixing. The first result of the research show, there are three types of Code-Mixing process in the K-POPers utterance; insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization. The second, there are five effects of Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers Indonesia; make they interested to visit South Korea, increase their language skill day by day, be able to teach Korean Language to other people, be able to exchange their knowledge about Korean and Indonesian culture and be able to exchange their knowledge about language. The last, there are six functions of Code-Mixing performed by K-POPers Indonesia; to show the feel and emotional situation, followed by to share knowledge, to get a new friend, to give a respect to someone who speaks with us, to increase prestige, and to make K-POPers enjoy the communication process. The result of this research was expected to be a reference for the next researcher, student, and lecture so they more understand about sociolinguistics, especially Code-Mixing
