Background & aims: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a progressive liver disease with potentially severe complications including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Previously, we have identified circulating lipid signatures associating with liver fat content and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
