Sub-Saharan Africa's economy and livelihood are primarily dependent on agriculture, which makes it highly vulnerable to the impacts of extreme weather events and climate change. Modelling and quantifying extreme rainfall and its temporal changes in such environments could thus provide crucial information for design, insurance, management, ecology and climate adaptation.
