Migration and multiculturalism related issues have become central especially in the latter half of the 20th century and early 21st century. Within the critical debate of the multicultural perspective, this paper explores potential of children’s literature, specifically multicultural picturebooks and wordless picturebooks to promote intercultural education. Multicultural picture books and wordless picture books are sophisticated yet accessible specific sub-genre of literature that use both words and illustrations in their narrative constructions. They can be useful educational devices to create narrative empathy.
