Landscape perceptions influence how visitors view, understand and ascribe qualities to the natural environment. Differences exist in ways which visitors perceive and interact with landscapes. Research indicates an increasing diversification in the needs and wants of Chinese outbound visitors, which calls for further exploration and deeper understanding of how Chinese visitors view landscapes that are very different to those in China. This study adopts an accompanied walk approach to explore how Chinese visitors view, connect with and make sense of the Uluru landscape in situ.
