Osteochondrosis is a pathological condition occurring in different joints. Besides the shoulder and elbow joint, the tarsal joint is the third most commonly affected joint (4-9%). The radiographic diagnosis is often difficult because the tarsus is a very complex joint. Computed tomographic examination provides more information about the exact number of fragments and the location of the lesion on the talar ridge. Minimally invasive surgery, such as arthroscopy, if necessary combined with mini-arthrotomy, results in a better long-term outcome than arthrotomy does
