Despite increased understanding of erosion processes and advances achieved in soil erosion modeling during the last 2 decades, we are still far from accurately simulating the large temporal and spatial variability in soil redistribution. Only few studies evaluated the spatial predictive capacity of models by means of measured data, which puts the reliability of our model-predicted values on the line. Fallout radionuclides (FRNs) 137Cs, 210Pbex and 7Be can provide the necessary data to validate erosion models.
