A study of the novels that deal directly with the terrorist attacks of September 11. Special attention to Don DeLillo's Falling Man, Art Spiegelman's In the Shadow of No Towers, Jonathan Safran Foer's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Frédéric Beigbeder's Windows and the World and John Updike's Terrorist. The interpretations of the novels are inspired by trauma studies and concentrate on the ways novelists have tried to say the unsayable
