La dislocazione a destra tra italiano comune e variazione regionale

Right dislocation (RD) is usually included in the linguistic features of the so-called neo-standard Italian. This pan-Italian variety is used in relatively informal contexts by speakers with education ranging from average to higher. Although neo-standard linguistic features have been studied from different points of view, their actual geographical diffusion has been not always investigated in depth. By means of a corpus-based analysis the question is addressed if RD is equally represented in different parts of Italy. The analysis has been carried out on the corpus CLIPS which includes task-oriented dialogues collected in fifteen Italian cities. The results have shown that RDs appear seldom in the conversation of speakers form Milan, while they are widespread, among others in the production of the speakers from Florence. The difference between Milan and Florence has been further investigated using the corpus LIP. The comparison between CLIPS and LIP corroborated the results, which are statistically significant: although the RD is present in all the investigated varieties of Italian, its frequency varies significantly in the two cities. This suggests that the pan-Italian character of the neo-standard linguistic features could be re-thought in terms of frequency of occurrence of each feature in different areas. Finally, the deeper linguistic standardization of Milan is invoked to explain the scarce presence of RD in this area
