Dissertação de mestrado em EcologySea lamprey, Petromyzon marinus L., is an anadromous cyclostome fish where the adult phase is spent in the ocean and when reaches maturity initiate the spawning migration and return to freshwater ecosystems to spawn. The success of this species is essentially due to a prolonged larval phase in freshwater systems with low mortality rates. This study aims to analyze sea lamprey larvae structure in a Minho River tributary in different periods of the year as well as to study the organic matter sources contributing for sea lamprey larval biomass using stable isotope analysis.
