Dissertação de mestrado em Advanced OptometryRelevance Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease caused by inflammation of the Central Nervous System and leading to dysfunction of neural circuits. The disease can lead to functional changes in high-level processes such as attention, memory, processing speed information and decision-making. Currently available techniques to monitor functional changes have limitations with, for example, poor correlation between structural and functional changes. Eye movements are altered from early stages in the condition and can be useful to overcome some of the current limitations faced when measuring functional changes in MS.
