Dissertação de mestrado integrado em Engenharia de MateriaisAs membranas à base de paládio-prata podem ser aplicadas na indústria de produção e purificação de hidrogénio, através da sua introdução num reator onde ocorrem as reações de formação de hidrogénio a partir hidrocarbonetos. Através desta membrana é possível fazer a separação do hidrogénio dos restantes gases da reação, que traz bastantes vantagens, principalmente a nível de controlo de custos. O paládio entre todos os metais é aquele que tem maior capacidade para permear hidrogénio bem como é o que mais estanca os restantes gases. Ao formar uma liga de paládio–prata (Pd-Ag), é possível aumentar a permeância do hidrogénio na membrana pelo facto de se melhorar as propriedades ...
