In the Royal Library of the Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial, in Madrid, is kept a sixteenth‐century manuscript which includes a neo‐Latin poem entitled Ode in Gallos containing an explicit attribution to André de Resende. From some texts by André de Resende, we can draw the conclusion that the humanist author from Évora was in Spain in 1526. The historical circumstances described in the poem point to a similar date. These facts, combined with the probity of the compiler of the manuscript, who has personally been responsible for the copy, seem to make the attribution of the poem to André de Resende plausible.Na Real Biblioteca do Mosteiro de São Lourenço do Escorial, em Madrid, encontra‐ se um manuscrito do séc.
