Despite the extensive use of Nickel-based superalloys in industry, the dynamic response of thesematerials is still poorly documented. Moreover, many of these alloys are now produced by additivemanufacturing (AM), and the effects of the particular microstructure associated with theseprocesses are still largely unknown. In this context, we studied the dynamic behaviour of twopolycrystalline superalloys, René 65 and Waspaloy, subjected to plate impacts and laser shocks atloading pressures between 5 and 20 GPa for very high strain rates on the order of 106 s-1.
