The portfolio thesis is divided into three parts: a systematic literature review, an empirical study, and appendices.Part one is a systematic literature review exploring definitions, measures and influencers of health-related quality of life (HRQofL) in brain tumour (BT) populations. The review was undertaken as no BT-specific HRQofL definition currently exists, literature remains unclear regarding the existence of reliable and valid BT-specific measures, and little is known about factors associated with HRQofL that may be amenable to change.
