The thesis portfolio is divided into three parts:Part one is a systematic literature review, in which quantitative literature considering the role of relational connectedness in the recovery process for people with mental health difficulties is reviewed. A systematic search of five databases identified twelve studies in the area. A narrative synthesis of the findings is provided. Methodological quality of the area, as well as implications and directions for future research are discussed.Part two is an empirical paper which explores relational connections among care leavers.
