PURPOSE: To evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of posterior chamber collagen copolymer phakic intraocular lens (pIOL) implantation to correct myopia. SETTING: Fern!andez-Vega Ophthalmological Institute, Oviedo, Spain. DESIGN: Cohort study. METHODS: Uncorrected (UDVA) and corrected (CDVA) distance visual acuities, refraction, pIOL vault, endothelial cell loss, and adverse events were evaluated for 5 years after implantation of the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens pIOL for moderate to high myopia.
