The objective of this study was to investigate the deformation and formation of cell wall damage under constant load and varying moisture content. The paper presented describes the creep behaviour of clear sapwood pine (Pinus silvestris L.)samples subjected to a four points bending load. The size of the samples was 10 by 10 by 400 mm. The mean maximum bending strength of matched samples were determined at 8,3±0,2 % moisture content. Then samples were loaded at 0, 5, 20 and 40 % loading levels. The direction of the load applied was either tangentially or radially with respect to the annual ring orientation. Finally. the deflection and the twisting of each samples were determined. The creep test was completed after about eight months and a nu...
