The primary objective of this study is that there is a growing and consolidating video game ethos that permeates our society and serves as a valuable prism by the means of which we may examine broader sociological issues in contemporary society. Video games are therefore understood as a manifestation of life and culture in contemporaneity. Thus, this paper not only contributes to our understanding of video games as experience, culture, and socio-technical assemblage, but also to our understanding of contemporary social issues such as work, education, culture, agency, power, experience, empathy, and identity.
