Ekspresowa Analiza Zagrożenia Agrofagiem: Fusarium circinatum

F. circinatum infects species of the Pinus genus and green Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), causing cankers surrounding branches, aerial roots and shoots. Infection is often accompanied by intense resin secretion. Disease symptoms can be observed at any time of the year. The pathogen can covertly infect pine seeds and cause root rot. Hosts of greatest importance in the PRA area are: P sylvestris, P. strobus, P.contorta and P. menziesii. Currently, the pathogen has spread to the Americas, Asia, Africa and southern Europe, where it has caused great havoc. Most often, its first outbreaks in new areas were recorded in nurseries. Due to the similarity between the climatic conditions of the Polish area and some of the areas where the agrophage occurs, as well as its detection in the EU, there is a risk that F. circinatum will also appear in the PRA. The most likely route of its importation is the transport of infested seedlings, seeds or pine wood from regions of natural occurrence of the agrophage. Delaying the appearance can be achieved by inspecting imported seedlings and wood from areas occupied by the pathogen.PL; pl; PDF; kwarantanna@iorpib.poznan.p
