This article is devoted to the concept of the text, its main functions and main features, as well as the problem of its interpretation. The text is a multidimensional linguistic unit, the definition of which is not unanimous among linguists, which is a serious problem in any modern linguistic research, and the analysis of the text, especially the literary text. This article discusses several approaches to the problem presented of particular interest in linguistic analysis, is the fact that the literary text has a number of distinctive features that distinguish it from the real text.
