Mastering the Folk Music Tradition in the Student Folklore Group

The purpose of the article is to reveal the basic principles of mastering the folk music tradition in the student folklore group within the framework of studying the educational component under the same name within the curriculum of the educational degree Bachelor of specialists – ethnomusicologists – practitioners, whose main task is to study and assimilate ethnomusicological material for the purpose of its further preservation and stage-performance interpretation. Research methodology. The following methods were used in the research process: source study (processing of scientific research on the methodology of working with student folklore groups); analytical (comprehension of the role and place of the secondary folklore group in the process of preserving and retransmitting the intangible cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people), as well as the method of theoretical generalisation (for summarising the results of the study). Results. The course Folklore ensemble (methods and practice of working with folklore group), being one of the most important in the system of the educational programme Musical Folklore at KNUKiM, solves the main tasks of forming the professionalism of ethnomusicologist – researcher and folklorist-practitioner – performer. The scientific novelty of the article lies in highlighting the formation peculiarities of the main professional competencies and competencies of higher education graduates – bachelor within the framework of mastering the educational program Musical Folklore at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts
