Holotype: ♁ (WCBA00100), CHINA, Yunnan: Diqing Prefecture, Weixi County, Weideng Township, Lazhidashan [ṄŊIJffi], at the foot, ca. 2000 m, 23. VI.2022, Xiao-Hong Li leg. (MYNU). Paratypes: 6♁♁ 1♀ (WCBA00101–7), same data as holotype (MYNU); 5♁♁ 3♀♀, same data as holotype except 20. (CJZH); 1♀ (WCBA00112), CHINA, Chongqing: Jiangjin District, Simianshan [AEMffi], Dawopu [kṘm], 20– 26. VI.2019, Jian-Yue Qiu leg. (MYNU). Description. Male (Figs. 1A, B; 2A–F). Measurements (n = 5, average). Body 17.2–16.7 (16.9) mm long. Length of different body parts (mm): head (1.8), pronotum (2.7), mesonotum (2.8), forewing (21.7), abdomen (9.6); width: head (5.3), pronotum (5.7), mesonotum (4.5), forewing (6.3). Head. Black, only slightly narrower than pronotum and 1.2 times as wide as mesonotal base. Compound eyes and ocelli yellowish. Distance between lateral ocellus and corresponding eye about 1.2 times as wide as distance between lateral ocelli. Postclypeus distinctly swollen, with seven transverse grooves on each side. Anteclypeus and lorum sparsely covered with brown setae. Rostrum black, just reaching mesocoxae. Thorax. Pronotum black with paramedian and lateral fissures somewhat infuscate, 1.5 times as long as head and nearly as long as mesonotum excluding cruciform elevation. Pronotal collar black, only yellowish (Figs. 1A; 2C–F) or reddish (Figs. 2A, B) at hind corners; short, narrowly ampliate laterally, with lateral margins sinuate but not dentate; hind corners widely rounded; surface transversely grooved. Mesonotum black. Cruciform elevation yellow. Thoracic sternites black, except orange (Fig. 1B) or red at katepisternum II. Legs. Bicolored, mostly black except basal halves of mesofemora and basal ⅗ of metafemora in orange (Fig. 1B) or red. Profemur (Fig. 1E) with four spines; primary spine much long, slender and pointed; secondary spine subtrianglular and acute; subapical spine shorter, subtrianglular and acute; apical spine small, tuberculate and obtuse. Meracanthi orange (Fig. 1B) or red, except black at bases. Wings. Generally opaque in basal halves and hyaline in apical halves. Forewing with 8 apical cells; nodal line invisible; more or less orange in basal cell, extreme base of clavus and basal membrane; blackish brown (Figs. 1A; 2A–D) or light brown (Figs. 2E, F) in radial cell, medial cell, cubital cell, most of clavus, base of ulnar cell 2, basal half of ulnar cell 3, and bases of apical cells 7 and 8; remaining parts hyaline, more or less infuscate apically; C, R+Sc, M and CuA veins orange in blackish brown patch; remaining veins brown to blackish brown. Hindwing with 6 apical cells; orange (Figs. 1A; 2C, D, F) or red (Figs. 2A, B, E) in costal cell, radial cell, medial cell, basal part of cubital cell 1, bases of cubital cell 2 and anal cells 1 and 2, and anal cell 3; brown (Figs. 1A; 2A–D) or light brown (Figs. 2E, F) in bases of apical cells 4–6, apical part of cubital cell 1, most of cubital cell 2 and anal cell 1 (including marginal area after them), and along outer margin of anal cell 2; remaining parts hyaline; C, Sc+RA, M, CuA, bases of CuP, 1A and 2 A, and 3A veins yellow in orange patch; remaining veins brown to blackish brown. Abdomen. Bicolored, mostly black except lateral parts of tergite VII and epipleurite VII in yellowish (Figs. 1A; 2C, D) or reddish (Figs. 2A, B), or dyeing forward to segment VI (Figs. 2E, F), about 1.3 times as long as length from tip of head to base of cruciform elevation. Timbal cover absent, timbal entirely exposed. Operculum mostly orange (Fig. 1B) or red, rather short, transversly elliptical, rather broadly separated from each other, just reaching anterior margin of abdominal sternite II. Abdominal sternite VII ligulate, gently curved at posterior margin; sternite VIII (Fig. 3E) oblong, gently curved at posterior margin. Male genitalia. Pygofer (Figs. 3A–D) short and stout, suboval; anal styles relatively large, less sclerotised, densely covered with short setae apically; dorsal beak short, widely subtriangular in dorsal view; basal lobes rather short but large, tuberculate; upper lobes moderately long and thick, digitiform, distinctly scabrous in apical part; distal shoulders absent. Uncus (Figs. 3A, C, D) with median lobe well-developed, wide, with two lateral tubercles pointing basally; claspers widely separated, hook-like, curving apically in apical parts. Aedeagus (Figs. 3F–I) short, laterally widened; pseudoparameres fusiform in apical parts in both ventral and lateral views; endotheca truncate at apex in lateral view. Female (Figs. 1C, D; 2G–I). Similar to male in general appearance, but distinct in the following characters: abdomen (Figs. 4A–C) yellowish in lateral parts of tergites VII and VIII, epipleurites VII and VIII, and sternite VII; sternite VII subtriangularly incised at middle of posterior margin; ovipositor sheath black, extending beyond segment IX; dorsal beak small, roundly obtuse, shorter than anal styles. Etymology. The new species is dedicated to one of the collectors of the type specimens, Dr. Yue-Jian Qiu (MYNU), my colleague, an excellent scarabist, for her constant support to my taxonomic study. The name is a noun in the genitive case. Distribution. China (Chongqing, Yunnan) (Fig. 5). Differential diagnosis. The new species has unique appearance that is visually distinct in the genus Hea and it is readily distinguished from three known congeners by the following characters (characters of the latter in brackets): H. qiuae Wang, sp. n. vs H. choui Lei, 1992: pronotum almost uniformly black (pronotum black, with a long necked flask like, greenish yellow fascia along mid-line); mesonotum black, except cruciform elevation in yellow (mesonotum greenish yellow, with a pair of large inverted conoid lateral maculae, a pair of small anterior maculae, and a large conoid median maculae before cruciform elevation in black); forewing hyaline in apical half (forewing with a longitudinal brown band at center of apical half); abdomen with two subapical yellowish or reddish spots on lateral parts of dorsum (abdomen with two longitudinal black bands through dorsum); male pygofer with dorsal beak short, widely subtriangular in dorsal view (pygofer with dorsal beak long, narrowly subtriangular in dorsal view); basal lobes rather short but large, tuberculate (basal lobes digitiform); upper lobes moderately long and thick, digitiform (upper lobes subrectangular). H. qiuae Wang, sp. n. vs H. fasciata Distant 1906:head uniformly black (head black, with a longitudinal ochraceous fascia along mid-line of front); pronotum almost uniformly black (pronotum dark ochraceous, with a longitudinal broad greenish yellow fascia along mid-line); mesonotum black, except cruciform elevation in yellow (mesonotum dark ochraceous, with a longitudinal broad greenish yellow fascia along mid-line, and cruciform elevation also greenish yellow); legs mostly black except basal halves of mesofemora and basal ⅗ of metafemora in orange or red (procoxae and profemora almost blackish, protibiae and protarsi dark ochraceous, mesolegs and metalegs almost greenish yellow); wings generally opaque in basal halves and hyaline in apical halves (wings generally hyaline); abdomen black, with two subapical yellowish or reddish spots on lateral parts of dorsum (abdomen dark ochraceous, with a central whitish pilose fascia); male pygofer with dorsal beak short, widely subtriangular in dorsal view (male pygofer with dorsal beak long, narrowly pointed in dorsal view); basal lobes rather short but large, tuberculate (basal lobes digitiform); upper lobes moderately long and thick, digitiform (upper lobes shortly tuberculate).
