Ekspresowa Analiza Zagrożenia Agrofagiem: Rhagoletis completa

Rhagoletis completa is a small fly native to North America that was imported into Europe late last century. Both in the area of its natural occurrence and newly colonized, it is an oligophage that damages the green, fleshy seed coats of nuts of the genus Juglans. This pest causes significant losses in the area of natural occurrence reaching 80% of nut production. The species' host plant, walnut, is common in the PRA area, but mainly in amateur cultivation. Climate is unlikely to be a limiting factor in the occurrence, reproduction and overwintering of the pest. R. completa, if infiltrated into the PRA area, may become an important pest of walnut. After analyzing the current range of the pest, its climatic and ecological requirements, it can be assumed that Rhagoletis completa is likely to appear in the PRA area in the next decades. Should the pest appear in the PRA area, measures should be taken to control it in order to delay the expansion of this species as much as possible. Mechanical and chemical methods described in the literature can be used for this purpose. Once most of the PRA area has been colonized, control of the pest should be adjusted according to the severity of its occurrence and location (commodity orchards or home gardens). For commodity orchards, an appropriate program for the protection of walnut against R. completa should be developed, including monitoring, forecasting of emergence, and recommended non-chemical and chemical methods of protection. In home gardens, the use of selected elements from the protection program should be recommended developed for orchards, with particular emphasis on the use of non-chemical methods.PL; pl; PDF; kwarantanna@iorpib.poznan.p
