A STUDY ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AMONG STATE LEVEL INDIVIDUAL, COMBAT, AND TEAM GAME ATHLETES

The purpose of the study was to analyze selected psychological traits among state level individual events, team games, and compact game players. Total of 120 athletes of state level from are selected. The age of selected players was ranging from 18 to 27. 120 athletes selected State level men football, handball, hockey and wrestling, judo, track and field (400m, 100ms), long jump, high jump. 20 footballers, 16 handball players, 18 hockey players, 40 athlete, 13 judokas and 13 wrestlers were selected.The method adapted for the selection of the subjects, administration of questionnaires and methods employed for statistical treatment of data have been explained. The study related to the motivation scale, emotional inteligence, anxiety of state level individual events, team games, and compact game players, helpful to trainers and coaches. The study helps them to identify the above mentioned qualities of players. So that the coaches and trainers can help the players to avoid committing fouls and getting penalty cards. Definitely this study and its result are helpful to teachers and coaches to give proper training for young players. Thus it is helpful to players and coaches
