ROLE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN FORMING SOCIAL CAPITAL OF DALITS

The scope of Entrepreneurship is wider than what we witnessed so far. In developing countries like India, it plays a vital role not only as a source of livelihood but also as a solution to many social problems. Dalits in India are discriminated from centuries but as a result of globalization, few Dalits have raised themselves as an entrepreneur with the motto of fighting caste with the capital. The present study made an attempt to explore the role of entrepreneurship in forming the social capital of Dalits. Only the peer-reviewed literature was considered for the study and case studies of five entrepreneurs belongs to the Dalit community was considered for the study. The outcome of this study is that the social capital and competence of Dalits after they became an entrepreneur was much better than before
