Emulgels are preferred over other systems for topical medication administration due to a variety of features. They are typically used as skin emollients, protectants, antiseptics, and antifungal agents. The effectiveness of topical preparations depends on a number of variables, including the drug's solubility, lipophilicity, time in contact with the skin, and permeability.
